Julie McCarty is the founder of what was initially known as the NE Tarrant Tea Party, established in 2009. Under her leadership, the organization rapidly gained recognition as the most influential and active tea party group in Texas. Julie’s fearless approach to advocacy led to significant political changes, including the replacement of all State House representatives in the area with conservatives. Her group also successfully sued the IRS, setting a precedent for grassroots organizations.
In 2019, recognizing the need for a broader vision, the group rebranded to the True Texas Project. Julie and her team immediately began expanding the organization’s reach by establishing satellite locations across Texas. The True Texas Project continues to attract hundreds of activists to its monthly meetings, a testament to its enduring influence.
Beyond her activism, Julie is a dedicated mother who homeschools her daughter and runs a real estate investment business with her husband, Fred. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Grapevine. Her passions extend to traveling and organizing, making her a well-rounded leader committed to the conservative cause in Texas.
Julie is accessible through various social media platforms and can be reached at julie@truetexasproject.com.
