Sheila Hemphill brings a unique blend of grassroots activism and legislative advocacy to the TEXIT movement. Residing in Brady, Texas, with her husband Mark, a 6th generation rancher, and their two children, Sheila has been a pillar in rural economic development efforts since 2003.
Professional Experience
Sheila possesses a wide array of professional skills that enable her to swiftly identify problems and communicate effective solutions. Her advocacy work is deeply rooted in her commitment to truth and justice.
Legislative Advocacy
While the Texas legislature is in session, Sheila serves as a registered Texas Lobbyist. Her focus areas include hemp, health, and healing, and she advocates from a people-centric perspective. Unlike many lobbyists, Sheila has no clients and takes instructions only from her conscience, sought through prayer and the counsel of Godly individuals.
Texas Right To Know (TRTK)
In 2017, Sheila founded Texas Right To Know (TRTK), a coalition of citizen advocacy groups aimed at informing and connecting people about local and state legislative issues affecting their lives. TRTK focuses on uniting people on common ground issues while avoiding divisive topics. The organization’s primary goal is to seek virtuous outcomes and empower citizens to influence the laws under which they live.
Sheila Hemphill’s extensive experience in both economic development and legislative advocacy makes her an invaluable contributor to the TEXIT Conference, offering insights into how grassroots movements and legislative action can work hand-in-hand for the betterment of Texas.
